Dr. Michael Roberts – DJ, Radio, TV Host & Personality
Michael Roberts has a rich, long passion & connection to music since childhood. First as a musician & performer evolving into a National & Internationally recognized DJ, Music Aficionado & Reviewer especially in the genre of East Coast Beach Music which is mostly recognized as Classic Soul in the traditions of Motown & The Sound of Philadelphia.
Michael has been instrumental in the development of Beach Music TV, a television network dedicated to preserving and promoting beach music culture. Through perseverance, leadership, and an enduring passion for entertainment, Michael helped grow the network into an international community of more than 200 radio DJs and 45 video DJs spanning South Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.
In addition, Michael has created a unique gospel music program, God Loves You When You Dance, a three-hour weekly gospel radio show that ultimately aired worldwide on 48 terrestrial and internet radio stations. He later developed an additional beach music program that further expanded his audience and influence.
Among his current projects, Michael is currently concluding a 5 part series on the legendary vocalist O.C. Smith entitled, O.C. Smith – His Life & Music, soon to be airing.
Michael Roberts continues to maintain personal relationships with DJs and entertainers around the world, united by one mission: preserving and expanding the love of East Coast Beach Music. What was once considered a uniquely southeastern American tradition is now heard and appreciated globally through his efforts. For Michael, music has never simply been entertainment—it has been a lifelong calling, a ministry, and a bridge connecting generations and cultures through rhythm, dance, fellowship, and joy.
